Representative Profile
Through tax, I reflect on the future—to help build principled and sustainable businesses.
In Japan today, the number of foreign business professionals is steadily increasing. Yet, tax support for foreigners—particularly individuals and those in small to mid-sized foreign-affiliated companies—remains sorely lacking. Recognizing this gap, I founded my own firm in 2023 to serve these clients by offering income tax services in the area of global mobility, regardless of company size.
I spent nearly two decades at Ernst & Young Tax Co. (EY Japan), one of the Big Four firms, where I developed extensive expertise and gained a wide range of experience.
What reshaped my own values during that time was witnessing how many foreign clients approached finance and decision-making so differently from their Japanese counterparts.
In Japan, it’s common for individuals who retain a tax advisor to leave all tax matters entirely to their accountant. But many foreign executives I worked with took a markedly different approach. They engaged directly with their finances, setting target income levels for the following year based on what they wanted to achieve.
How much income would they need to make their goals happen? How much tax would they owe? And what would be left in their hands?
By seriously and proactively thinking through these questions, they were able to realize their goals and accelerate business growth.
In the past, a tax accountant’s primary role was the preparation of tax returns. But in today’s world, much of that can be handled by technology.
Inspired by what I’ve learned from my clients—foreign business professionals—I aim to bridge past performance and future goals through tax.
As a certified public tax accountant and MBA holder, I offer advice from both a tax and business management perspective.
Together with my clients, I work to shape a better future—and to promote the growth of sustainable businesses not only in Japan, but globally.
